We previously used SEM to observe everything. The operating rate of SEM has decreased greatly since introduction of the laser microscope. This means that we have succeeded in reducing cost and operation time.
If a problem occurs, we can instantly switch from observation to analysis. Because this allows us to take proper action in a timely manner, the yield has increased greatly.
Only simple measurement methods could previously be used to collect observational data. Because the laser microscope enables us to collect observational data, we are now able to report highly accurate, reliable measurement results to the customer and, as a result, to win the customer's confidence.
The noncontact feature makes it possible to analyze expensive specimens without causing damage to them.
We can observe almost all types of specimens. We note the high general versatility and high flexibility in using various different observation methods. Using one laser microscope, we are now able to perform almost all analytical tasks to be performed for verification of surface conditions.
We previously spent a considerable time to identify the locations of defects. The laser microscope allows us to observe specimens at low to high magnifications in real time in a seamless manner. In addition, the darkfield observation and DIC observation are very effective and convenient in locating minute defects.
Above anything else, the laser microscope is easy to operate. Novices are also able to operate it easily, even though they do not have the expertise of specialist personnel nor the highly sophisticated knowledge of researchers.
